Midwest Queer Comedy Festival

The Midwest Queer Comedy Festival was founded in 2017 as a way to expose audiences to different comedic voices. The first festival, was held after months of planning in 2018, in Columbus, Oh. Over 5 nights more than 50 comedians, from across the United States and Canada performed in 17 different and unique shows, while raising money for local charities.

Why Louisville? The festival has always been designed to rotate through different cities, to expose as many people to different comedic voices. According to the Midwestern Traveler Louisville, Ky., is a Midwest-Southern hybrid. It’s the 16th largest city in the United States and the considered the 5th largest in the Midwest. Derby City has a rich diversity, and a warm and inviting community, and is ranked in the top 20 cities with a gay population. St. Louis, Mo, Chicago, IL, Nashville, TN, and Indianapolis, IN are all within 300 miles of the city.
